Mark and Renee Laune had never been to Union Furniture & Flooring before, but when a friend told them to “Go talk to Dani,” our senior interior designer and decorator, that she could help simplify and manage the project, they didn’t hesitate to make the trip to Union, MO.

Here at Union Furniture & Flooring, we have installed a lot of different flooring in a lot of different places, but we had a first last fall when we laid a wood-look vinyl by Mannington in the Enchanted Forest Treehouse just down Highway 50 from our store. You read that right — we installed flooring in a treehouse. But this isn’t like any treehouse you ever climbed into as a child, unless it was in your dreams. The map says it’s in Union, MO, but the true location is a fairytale — yours, mine, everyone’s.

A lot of us here at Union Furniture & Flooring feel an urge to organize our homes this time of year, but organizing is not a skill that comes naturally to everyone. Professional organizers will tell you this, but sadly, a lot of people actually feel shame over their lack of organizing skill. That’s not right, so we want to help, even if only a little bit, so we are sharing a few of our tips and tricks.

We have a wide variety of recliners in your choice of manual or power reclining, and if you opt for a power recliner, you may be treated to a few extra features like the ability to adjust the headrest and lumbar support. On a select few, there is even a zero gravity recline position, a specific neutral reclining position that distributes weight and pressure evenly, creating a feeling of weightlessness. But this position may be more than just relaxing. There may be actual health benefits too.

Monica and Josh, who grew up in Krakow and Villa Ridge, moved back to Missouri so that they could raise their children closer to family. But finding the right house for the right price proved challenging. Although family was top of mind, it didn’t initially occur to them to consider Monica’s grandparents’ house, which had been vacant for six or seven years. It was only after the couple had exhausted every possibility that Monica realized it could be the perfect solution.

We’ve noticed a trend with our flooring customers recently. More and more are opting for wood-look laminate and vinyl over real wood. And we totally understand why! They look fabulous and their durability is amazing, not to mention that they require a lot less care and maintenance compared to wood.
