These Recliners Zero in on Comfort

Offering Zero Gravity Technology

Recliners are probably the most popular item we sell at Union Furniture & Flooring, and if you’ve ever sat in one, you know why. They are universally comfortable, although they are a little like Goldilocks — some will be too big for you, some too small, and then there will be some that are just right.

We have a wide variety of recliners in your choice of manual or power reclining, and if you opt for a power recliner, you may be treated to a few extra features, like the ability to adjust the headrest and increase lumbar support. On a select few, there is even zero gravity technology. If you’re not familiar with this, it’s a specific neutral reclining position (head and feet/legs positioned higher than your hips, distributing weight and pressure evenly) that creates a feeling of weightlessness. This position could be more than just relaxing. There may be actual health benefits. Placing your body in a neutral position like this has been said to relieve back pain and ease sore muscles, improve circulation and soothe swelling, minimize pressure and strain on the spine, and amplify breathing, which assists in heart function and increases lung capacity.

We don’t have any medical or scientific data on this, but we have seen the look on customers’ faces when they try these recliners, and they confirm the feeling of weightlessness. We have a few chairs on the sales floor with this feature and even more that can be ordered from Hooker (Vaughn, Oberon, Rhea, Lyra, Ruthe, Sterling and Eisley), Flexsteel (Linden, Garrett, Henry, Barnett, Willis and Jarvis) and La-Z-Boy (Astor and Pinnacle). We invite you to come in to try the zero gravity recline technology out for yourself. Who wouldn’t want to feel weightless, especially this time of year!
